Many new online entrepreneurs waste thousands of dollars promoting their shiny new websites, only to be disappointed by the results. They are so excited about finally having arrived on the internet, they want to announce it to the world! And who can blame them.

If you are blushing right now because you have thrown away a lot of money promoting your website without getting the results you were hoping, read on … all is not lost.

When it comes to designing and promoting your website, my rule is simple. Use 20% of your budget on creating your website and 80% on promoting it!

Ultimately it comes down to having a website that gives your visitors what they need, when they need it. Before you spend any (more) money on driving traffic to your site, ask yourself the following questions:

1. Is my website visitor friendly?

In other words, can your visitors find the information they are looking for easily and quickly and that means great navigational system. People are used to seeing a navigation bar on the left or at the top, so it’s a good idea to stick to that format. Also consider placing another navigation bar at the bottom, to save your customers from having to scroll back up to the top.

2. Is my website search engine friendly?

Search engines try to list sites that contain good content, so you need keywords and phrases on your pages that best describe your service and products. For example, if you are a wedding celebrant, use the words such as celebrant, online celebrant, virtual celebrant, wedding celebrant, celebrant in Sydney, etc as many times as possible. To find out what keywords your customers may be searching, check out wordtracker.com – you may be surprised! Once you decide on the keywords, use them in:

(a) Your website’s domain name
(b) The title of your page – This is displayed in the top bar of your browser window
(c) The heading of your home page
(d) The first paragraph of your home page
(e) Meta tags – Keywords, page title, description
(f) Titles of your graphics

Whilst it is important to use keywords as much as possible, it is also important you use them only if they are relevant and do not sound awkward.

3. Am I focusing on my visitors’ needs?

Rather than trying to “sell your business”, let your prospects know how your product/service is going to benefit them. Focus on the benefits and help to solve problems. Help your visitors, instead of trying to sell them products or services.

4. Am I cross-selling or up-selling?

If a customer is looking for a particular product, offer them details of related products. A company that does this exceptionally well is Amazon – amazon.com. Search for a particular book and you will find information on what other people who ordered this book also bought.

Make it easy for customers to go through the ordering process by providing them clear step by step instructions. Don’t forget to let your visitors know the delivery costs before they begin the ordering process.

5. Am I offering value to my customers?

Offer bonuses, free trials, discounts and prizes. List the cost of each bonus, so your visitors feel they’re getting an amazing deal. This will will help increase the value of your service or product.

6. Does my website include testimonials/product reviews/before & after

Include testimonials from your current customer to show your potential clients that you are trustworthy, reliable and that you offer great service and/or products. Ensure the testimonials are genuine and don’t forget to provide contact details of the customer.

You could also include before and after photos. Show the problem picture and beside it show the picture of resolution, with an explanation of your product’s benefits.

7. Do I offer a 100% Satisfaction Money Back Guarantee?

Offer a money back guarantee. The longer the guarantee period, the better 1 month, 2 months, a year or even a lifetime. You want to take the risk out of doing business with you.

8. Did I include media information on my site?

Include any information, articles, photos of your products, staff etc that have appeared in the media – print, TV, radio or internet. This is an incredible credibility booster!

9. Is there a Photo Gallery / Portfolio on my website?

Even if you do not wish to sell your products on-line, you may wish to showcase your goods or services in a special photo gallery. Some examples of photo galleries & portfolios include: – photographers – photos they have taken, – marriage celebrants – ceremonies they’ve performed, – entertainers – photos from their performances, – dress designers – garments they’ve designed – web designers – websites they’ve created – cake decorators – special cakes they’ve made and decorated, etc.

Place contact details in as many places as possible. Make it easy for your customers to contact you. Useful information includes: business name, street address or at least mailing address, phone & fax number, email address, emergency telephone number, website address.

Remember on the internet it’s about credibility, credibility, credibility. You need to prove to your visitors that you reliable and trustworthy.

So please don’t spend another dollar driving traffic to your website unless you can answer “YES” to most of the questions above.

Recently Tribal Tattoos have enjoyed a rejuvenation . The originals go beyond the intertwined stripes of black shapes that are common today. Haida

The Haida are North American Indians who were clever fishermen and seafarers who lived along the coast of British Columbia and Alaska. The Haida are well known as skilled artisans of wood, metal and design. They were also known as fearsome warriors who kidnapped slaves as far south in California. The Tribal tattoos of the Haida resembled pictures of the Indian astrology, thunderbirds, beavers, bears, and fish. The tattoo style of the Haida is forceful and masculine.

Celts

The Celts were a self-respecting , warrior class who inhabited the English Isles before the Roman invasion 55 B.C. under Julius Caesar. The Celts were such a threat that the Romans built the Hadrian Wall to keep them away. The endless knots inside and out of the outlines identify the Tribal tattoos of the Celtics.arquesan

Sea-faring Polynesians from Samoa colonized the Marquises Islands as early as 300 A.D. They were warring tribes who sometimes cannibalized their enemies. I’d given up on all the usual words, now I was searching for the magic ones — words that would make the pain go away. It was just after New Year’s when I lost Jonathan, my baby son, to spinal muscular atrophy. And I was stuck. Everything I read in books and magazines made sense, but nothing took the pain away.

Just before Jonathan died, I had sat with him in the hospital, his little hand clasped in mine, his three-year-old brother, Daniel, entertaining us with songs on his guitar. A copy of Parade magazine was on the table. On the cover were the words, Deal With Loss by Celebrating Life. The meaning struck a chord in me, but its full impact was yet to come.

Jonathan died three days later. The despair that followed was unbearable; the days were difficult, the nights were worse. Searching for comfort, I came across a passage in The Prophet by Khalil Gibran that talked about celebrating life as a way of dealing with loss. I looked up from my book and saw the little memorial card my husband had made for me, which included a picture of Jonathan and the words from the Parade cover, laminated together.

This time, the words took a grip on me and wouldn’t let go. I began to cry uncontrollably; but the tears felt different, like a new beginning. It was as if the darkness that had surrounded me for the past few months had lifted.

Deal with loss by celebrating life.

I remembered a sunny day shortly before Jonathan had become ill. I had taken him and Daniel to a playground, and while Daniel frolicked, I rocked Jonathan in his carriage. Suddenly, I noticed a little girl sitting in a wheelchair on the sidewalk, sadly watching the other children. Her fingers tightly gripped the spokes of her wheelchair; her little chin quivered as she tried to hold back her tears. She longed to be joining the other children at play, but with no accessible path to the equipment, she couldn’t get close. And even if she could, there was nothing for her to do. Not one part of the playground was available to a child in a wheelchair.

The image of that little girl sitting on the sidelines continued to haunt me while Jonathan was struggling for life in the hospital. Now here I was at my desk, thinking about how to celebrate Jonathan’s life. I had my answer.

What if I built a playground where all children could play? Wouldn’t that be a true celebration of life?

The idea stayed with me through the next few months, as I struggled to find the strength and courage to begin the work. I started slowly, enlisting the help of my family; I recruited volunteers — more than one thousand of them. My husband made little memorial cards, just like the one he’d made for me, for our entire family. We carried them with us everywhere, and to this day, I still find them unexpectedly in the pockets of something I am wearing.

But as April 1st of that year approached — what would have been Jonathan’s first birthday — I was once again plunged into despair. I’d see other babies who looked about a year old and my heart would break all over again. I longed for Jonathan.

Rather than run from the date, my husband Peter and I decided to have a party on Jonathan’s birthday at the local hospital. We arranged for a storyteller and a singer to entertain the children. We spent the day crying tears of joy and tears of sadness.

We celebrated the day. And we survived the day.

Eighteen months from the day I’d first read those insightful words, we opened our special playground. We called it Jonathan’s Dream. The moment I saw children in wheelchairs rolling up the ramp to the equipment, I was overwhelmed with tears of happiness.

Here were kids of all abilities, playing and learning together.

As a dating or married couple, you and your partner should find ways to express your love for one other.

Celebrating your anniversary will rekindle the fire and passion that you found from the very first day that you met.

Whether this is your first or fiftieth wedding anniversary, here are some ways to celebrate your anniversary and look forward to happier years together:

1. Decide on what you want to do as a couple.

Just like any other aspect in your relationship, decide together how you would like to celebrate your anniversary.

Sit down with your spouse and decide whether you want to surprise each other with gifts, or buy something special together.

Check out the symbol of your anniversary year and you can set this theme when thinking up ways to celebrate.

If you plan to buy a gift together, get a separate, smaller token of your love for each other.

2. Be creative in giving gifts.

Be inventive and creative when thinking of gifts to give out to each other.

Sometimes, things that you made with your bare hands can make more of an impact than something that you bought from the store.

You can make a scrap book of the pictures that you have collected through the years. Get your kids to help out to make it more fun and meaningful.

You can also make a video or a simple PowerPoint presentation so that you can view it together.

Insert some background music, make sure that it has the songs that you first danced with, and your spouse’s favorite medleys.

A gift can also be something that is not material. If you use your heart and add a little creativity, you can surely think of a non-material gift that your spouse will never forget.

3. Think up ways to pamper treat yourself and your partner.

You can spend you anniversary luxuriating in a spa.

Treat yourselves to a full body massage, a rose-scented bath or a trip to the sauna.

By pampering and relaxing your bodies, you will also prepare yourselves for a more intimate evening together.

Cap it all off with some fine dining and you will have one of your most memorable nights together.

4. Plan some alone time together.

If it is your first year together, definitely go somewhere private to celebrate. You can go back to the restaurant or romantic spot where you first met or where you had your first date.

Reminisce and tell each other stories about how you first met, and your first impression of each other.

Talking about these things would bring back the reason why you are together in the first place, which is because of your love for each other.

If you are a couple with kids, hire a baby sitter or ask a relative to look after your kids so that you can go out and celebrate.

In your everyday married life, you tend to forget to spend some quality time together as a couple because of all the household chores and taking care of the kids that you have to do.

Planning a quiet evening or having a weekend getaway should help you observe your anniversary in a private and intimate manner.

5. Plan a small, intimate get-together.

Some couples would like to share their love for each other with friends and family.

If, for example, last year you have celebrated your anniversary intimately, why not organize a small party this year?

Send out invites to the original bridal entourage to reminisce your wedding day.

Take a look at your wedding video and check out the bloopers. Have a lot of fun with your closest friends and immediate family on your anniversary.

6. Celebrate milestones with a bang.

If you are on your tenth, twenty-fifth or fiftieth wedding anniversary, have a big party. a

If you are celebrating your fiftieth wedding anniversary, get a gold jewelry or any golden item as a gift to your partner.
