Maximizing that margin will allow you to take the money you owe to the supplier and invest it in a savings account, so it will accumulate intrest. This requiers carefull planning and negotiations with suppliers (usually because they intend to do the same), but is a common practice. Do not buy shares or bonds with that money! use only simple short-term savings account.
Procedures – Write detailed procedures for everything (order process, shipping, inventory, etc’) that the your employees do reapetedly. Each procedure should also hold common errors and mishaps, and the best way to handle them. This makes things run more smoothly, and it also helps a new employee becoming productive faster. Keep developing and improving the procedures.
Use Free Services – There is no reason to buy Microsoft Office when you can download OpenOffice for free. Why use Outlook when you can download Thunderbird for free? There are a lot of free services out there (even accounting software and virtual carts) just waiting to save you money.
