When you partake in Australia travel, it should be about having fun, discovering new and exciting things, and seeking out new adventures. There are many different great and exciting things to visit in your Australia travel, but there are a few special places in particular that you must include on your itinerary. The Great Barrier Reef is definitely a hot destination for anyone who is thinking about Australia travel.

The Great Barrier Reef is the perfect place to spend some time on a visit if you are a first time traveler to Australia or if you have visited many times before. The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the entire world today. The Great Barrier Reef includes almost 3,000 individual reefs, 900 islands and stretches for over 2,500 kilometers. The entire area of The Great Barrier Reef expands over and area of over 300,000 square kilometers. The Great Barrier Reef is located off the coast of Queensland in the Coral Sea. Queensland is in the northeast area of Australia and is the second largest state in all of Australia.

The Great Barrier Reef is so incredibly large that it can even be seen from all the way in outer space. It is actually classified as the biggest single structure made by living organisms in the entire world. The Great Barrier Reef is actually composed of billions of coral polyps. Coral polyps are genetically identical little organisms that build together to form larger organisms. Most of The Great Barrier Reef is protected and surrounded by The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park which works hard to preserve the endangered wildlife that exists in and around the reef. Some of the species that you may come across in your visit to the reef are whales, dolphins, porpoises, sea turtles, salt water crocodiles, exotic jellyfish, giant clams and many other unknown and tropical fish.

The coolest part about The Great Barrier Reef is that you can go on an organized and guided tour of it which allows you to come face to face with these amazing creatures, some of them that you can only see at this reef. Your Australia travel cannot be complete or fulfilling without an exciting tour of The Great Barrier Reef. While there you can go on scuba diving adventures, snorkeling or even deep sea diving with the tropical fish. The Great Barrier Reef is a place that you must visit while in Australia; it is guaranteed to be the trip of a lifetime.

Australia travel is full of wonder, excitement, and experiences that are unique to the land down under. With gorgeous beaches, the Sydney skyline, majestic mountains, and impressive drylands, not to mention the Great Barrier Reef, Australia is one of the most popular destinations for tourists on vacation. There are many ways to explore Australia when you are on vacation, and two of the most popular ways is to take guided tours of the country and to enjoy themed package deals that are packed with adventure for every day of your stay.

One of the great places to stay during your Australia travel is the Whitsunday Islands. The Whitsunday Islands are absolutely stunning. Sailing is a popular activity here, and Australia travel goers enjoy the pristine beaches and clear blue water as they sail themselves as part of a themed package. Not only is sailing the islands a great way to spend your vacation, but there is also an opportunity for tourists to enjoy a cruise for a few days. The Coral Sea Resort in Airlie Beach offers first class accommodations for guests of Australia who travel, so if you want a vacation on the waters of Australia that will last a lifetime, a trip to the Whitsunday Islands is a must.

Another popular themed package that is available during Australia travel is a package that lets you spend your time in the country in some of the greatest cities here. Melbourne and Sydney are the two most popular (and largest) cities. The cities will keep you busy during your entire stay, with everything from world class shopping to exquisite dining. When you are in Australia, travel to the big cities is an absolute must to get a taste of the unique blend of modernization and Australia tradition. Festivals, activities, shops, restaurants, and gorgeous skylines will have you falling in love with Australia when you enjoy a city themed package.

In addition to the Islands and the cities, there are themed packages that are all about the famous Great Barrier Reef for tourists enjoying their Australia travel. The Great Barrier Reef is the largest reef in the world, and one day is never enough to experience the magnitude of the wondrous reef. With a themed reef package, you can snorkel, scuba dive, sail, and explore the reef for days, and nearby hotel accommodations are top of the line. If you would rather spend your Australia travel time in the water rather than on it, a Barrier Reef package is just the thing for you.

One last great themed package idea is a package that lets you explore the infamous Australia Outback while you travel. The outback packages can take you on a camping safari through some of the most dramatic scenery anywhere in the world. From the Olgas to Walpa Gorge to Kings Canyon, the panoramic backdrops will leave you in awe long after your Australia travel is over.

Uluru offers the perfect setting to walk around and even climb up to explore the mysterious formations and art sites of the Aborigines. Watching the sunset in this part of your Australia travel is part of what makes the trip absolutely perfect.

Youll find on your Australia travel that although the sunset at Uluru is astonishing, the sunrises are just as breathtaking. The desert changes colors before your eyes as the sun lifts, painting a picture of unmatched beauty that is all Australia. Before you leave the area, be sure to go through the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta.

Your Australia travel also can offer you a trip to Kings Canyon to see the rock formation known as the Amphitheatre, the Lost City, the Garden of Eden, and the North Wall and the South Wall. Hermannsburg Aboriginal Community and Finke River offer an incredible sightseeing experience, and nearby is the home of the renowned Aboriginal painter Albert Namitjira.

After your Australia travel has taken you here, be sure to head to Palm Valley and Cycad Gorge, which is the site of a sea from prehistoric times, and home to the rarest trees in the world, which is a special kind of palm tree. Dont miss your chance to see the Gosse Bluff, which is a jaw dropping meteorite crater that is thought to be more than 130 million years old.

Australia travel tours to Glen Helen Gorge and Ormiston Gorge are fun filled adventures that are excellent topped off by the Ellery Creek Big Hole. The Western MacDonnell Ranges offer tourists the unparalleled sights of rugged scenery at its best.

Near Banka Banka the Tropic of Capricorn crosses where you can see Devils Marbles, an Aboriginal art gallery, and check out the famous Mary Ann Dam. Passing through Tennant Creek is always fun, and during your Australia travel you wont want to miss the historical Banka Banka Cattle Station where you can camp overnight for a true Outback experience that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Buying directly from the insurer or through your local travel agent you will generally find that the travel insurance you buy is not discounted. You have to go directly to their office, discuss your travel needs then fill in application forms for your insurance. It can be a time consuming affair.
Buying through a reseller generally means you will save money and time. Most resellers have web sites where you can fill in your information online to find the travel insurance policy that you require. You can then complete an application form and receive your policy by mail. The resellers are offered a discount on the insurance by the insurance companies, so they can pass on some of this discount to you.

The following outlines what a reseller of travel insurance is and what it means for you.

What is a Travel Insurance Reseller?
A travel insurance reseller is a middle person between the customer and insurance company or companies.

What do they do?
A travel insurance reseller sells travel insurance for one or more insurance companies, usually at a discounted price. Because a reseller receives discounts from the travel insurance companies they can offer you cheaper travel insurance than buying direct from the insurance companies.

What are their responsibilities?
The responsibilities of a Travel Insurance reseller are:
• Help you find a travel insurance product that you need.
• Interact with the insurance company to complete your application.
• Interact with the insurance company to process any Pre-Exisiting medical and senior traveller issues. This interaction often involves a fee.
• If you need to cancel the insurance before you travel then the reseller will interact with the insurance company to cancel the policy. You may be charged for this service.
• Once your policy has taken effect the contract is complete and any interactions in regard to claims must be dealt with between you and the insurer. The travel insurance reseller is able to help you to get in touch with the insurer.

How do they profit?
Travel insurance resellers profit by passing on part of the discount that they receive from an insurance company to you. For example, a reseller may receive a 45% discount on the Travel insurance products that they sell, and they may pass on a saving of 15% to you.
So you walk away happy because you have saved 15% on your Travel Insurance product and they are happy because they have made a 30% margin on this product.

How do I know if a Travel Insurance Reseller is reputable?
In Australia all travel insurance resellers must be approved and will have been issued with a Financial Services Reform Act (FSRA) Number. Look for this number on their web site, their business cards or the Product Disclosure Statement.

Where can I find a Australian Travel Insurance Reseller?

Address: Porto, Melbourne

Schedule: 10-17

entered by payment

Polly Woodside is the name of the glorious sail ship built in 1885 in Ireland that afterwards, once setting in pension, became a museum of the sea. Around it there are other buildings that house part of the collection.

AUSTRALIAN CUISINE

The Australian cuisine is a mixture of different cuisine of the world, as part of the immigrants coupled in Australia. This way the Italian restaurants cohabit with those Chinese, the Hindu come closer to the Irishmen, the Thai are very close to the Lebaneses. The restoration level is high and therefore interesting ethnic-gastronomic experiences can be had. All the products come from the Island and almost anything is cared. which means a guarantee of quality, as the nature has particularly favored the great Australian island. Naturally fish and shellfish are the preferred plates in the coast, rich in each form of life. Don’t forget to taste the marine plates at the Thai restaurants. Fish and shellfish cooked with yellow, green and red curry sauce. And mainly crabs an authentic delight. Or also lobster and crustaceans. The Australian meat is also of high quality-tendered and more pleasant than in Italy- where you may eat big beefsteaks, accompanied by potatoes enriched with butter or creams or sour creams. But it is Meat Pie the true institution of the Australian cuisine. Nothing more than a rich baked meat cake. It is served everywhere in the island. But the best thing would be to eat it at home. Actually the Australian wine should be tasted. Many of them have anything to envy to the European wines as of being cared to the Italian and French restaurants.

SHOPPING

Precious stones, wine, but above all the craft is in the Outback, the immense interior of the country, and the aborigine art, in its strange and mysterious way. In the free business at the airports is enough to show the passport and trip ticket to receive discounts in the prices and local rates.

The main textile for confections in Australia its call Oilskin. It takes this name due to the fantasy of the first colonists that cut the cotton sails and made with them coats waxed with paraffin, already common among the farmers, fishermen, the superintendents and all those who lived in open areas. There are also shirts, pants, and long hats and skirts at Crocodile Dundeei the style. In the town of the sheep the best acquisition cannot be other than naturally a wool T-shirt made with an adornment at thick point and of strong colors. Lovers of the sea will have the nuisance of choosing among surfing suit, T-shirt and pullovers.

Jewelers

Australia is famous for the opal, from which the 95% of the world production is sustained. The most beautiful are those extracted at the black style Lighting Ridge, in the New South Wales. But there are also the sapphire and the diamond. On the other hand the sea offers beautiful pearls cultivated in the water of Broome and the marketed with the South Sea trademark.

Art

In the last years the aborigine art has been imposed before to the attention of collector and passionates. Paintings on the eucalyptus bark, small rituals tables, boomerangs, and worked shells, paintings on linen which truly surprising as for their originality.

Food

The Australian wines have become a fashion, but they have got this position principally due to their quality. To taste them we have: Chardonnay from the Clare Valley, the so call “Tuscan Australian”. But also the red wine Shiraz from the Barossa Valley, the Pinot Nero from the Leewin State and the Muscat from the Rutherglen region. Delicious is also the chocolate produced by the Factory Cadburu, and the smoky fish of Tasmania.

Financial institutions today offer many extra’s to entice customers to apply for their credit cards and/or charge cards; one of the extras commonly offered is free travel insurance. This extra can lead to confusion for many potential travelers. Although some high end cards such as Platinum and Gold Cards offer reasonable cover many of the standard cards have very restricted insurance and therefore should not replace standard travel insurance.

Listed below are some of the common pitfalls:

– Possible restrictions on medical coverage
It is important to check that the medical coverage is adequate for the destination that you are traveling too. For example, it is recommended that travelers have unlimited medical cover for US travel as medical expenses can be massive.
– Possible restrictions on coverage
E.g Some cards only offer ‘travel inconvenience which occurs in the case of flight delay, missed connections and delayed or lost luggage or for ‘travel accident insurance for example loss of life or limb in an accident during transport such as a flight but not during the trip.
– Your travel insurance my be void if you pay for your trip with cash
E.g This is very important to check as the Insurance Ombudsman Service in Australia recently saw a claim refused because the consumer paid for the trip deposit in cash and not with their card.
– Most policies have an excess that needs to be paid if you make a claim.
– No option to pay a slightly higher premium to ‘buy-out’ the excess as with normal travel insurance.
– Pre-existing medical conditions are covered only if the customer specifically applies to the insurer and they approve.
– Pre-existing medical conditions may only cover the main cardholder and may not be available for your spouse or children.

As shown by these pitfalls not all travel insurance will be adequate for your trip. It is therefore important to understand the conditions and restrictions found in the product disclosure statement before you travel. It is essential for you to check all the small print on your policy before you make a decision. So even though travel insurance may be a ‘free’ extra the consequences of not being properly covered will cost you in the long run.

Australia Travel Insurance wishes you a wonderful and safe journey.
