In general, Indochina area is safe for travelers and tourists. Violent attacks rarely happen, but heist is a problem in Indochina area, just like what is happening in most part of this world. Don’t worry about it; here are some tips for you to take some precautions while travelling in Indochina area:

Secure your valuable possessions in the hotel safe, if there isn’t one in your hotel room, the hotel front desk can provide the same service.
If you use traveller’s cheque, the suggestion is to write down the cheque numbers on a piece of paper, cross out the one after you use it to make your own record.
Take pictures of the information of the credit cards you are going to use while travelling, leave the ones that you don’t need at home; print the pictures and bring them in your luggage.
Use the same common sense travelling in Indochina area that you would at home, don’t use shortcuts and try not to walk alone at night. If you have to go out after dark, let somebody know when you are expected to come back to hotel.
Don’t put your wallet or mobile phone in the back pocket of your pants or anywhere else that is easily reached, thieves can reach them easily too. Be vigilant in markets and crowded places.
Wear the shoulder strap of your bag across your chest, and walk with the bag away from the curb to avoid drive-by purse-snatchers. It is more of a problem in big cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Phen, but there are a few incidences in Vientiane too.
Don’t discuss your personal matters and travel plans with strangers while traveling in Indochina area.
Traffic is chaotic in Indochina area, especially in Vietnam. It’s illegal to ride on a motorcycle without wearing a helmet, it’s not only required according to the local law system, but also made for your personal safety.
When crossing the street on foot, walk at a slow and steady pace, looking up and meeting the driver’s eyes, the traffic will flow around you.
Monitor the media for information about possible safety and security risks.

There are special tips at different countries and regions in Indochina area:
Vietnam: Tourists are sometimes not authorized to travel to certain areas of Vietnam in deemed sensitive by the Vietnam Government.

Cambodia: The landmines are no longer a concern to regular tourists, but pay attention to them because the remaining mines concentrated in the border areas (particularly the Thai Border), some mountain areas, and other war zones.

Laos: Landmines are the main concern to travelers; make sure where you cannot go to with your guide or the local people.

Thailand: In this country, you cannot avoid the beautiful beaches, do wear a life jacket when you hire a water scooter or a jet ski, and keep away from areas people are swimming.

Southwest China: This region is a well-developed tourist destination, while traveling in this area, you need to make sure that your driver is licensed and experienced, because of the complex terrain and road conditions. You can visit http://www.indochinaodysseytours.com to get more information about this.

Preparation and researchFirstly, consider the type of tour you have chosen. You luggage requirements would be markedly different if you plan to stay in five star hotels, for example, with transportation between them, as opposed to trekking in remote areas.

Secondly, do your research carefully into the likely weather conditions, services and facilities available locally, the nature of the countryside and terrain over which you will be travelling and the local culture. All of these will have a bearing on your luggage requirements.

Thirdly, bear in mind the fact that there is always a compromise to be make between packing every single item that might come in hardly and having a limit on what can be carried by you on the airline.

Whether you are back-packing and carrying all your luaggage with you or being transported from place to place, the some general principles apply. Pack that items needed first are packed last i.e. are reality available.

Climate and Weather

1. When visiting an area where very hot, sunny weather is likely, sun cream, sun glasses and appropriate headgear will be necessary as well as the appropriate light clothing. If the temperatures are likely to drop in the evening, warmer clothing will also be needed and perhaps hat and gloves.

2. Wet weather protective clothing will almost be certainly needed.

3. Consider footwear carefully; comfort in this area is vital. Sturdy walking boots and thick socks will be necessary for trekking in the hills, but you will also need soothing lighter while off the trails. Similarly, flip flops are ideal for the beach but something heavier will also be needed. Allow for your feet becoming too hot, too cold, and sometimes wet (don’t forget to pack a pair of slippers, even though these are usually provided by hotels.)

Personal toiletries and medicinesToiletries are a matter of personal choice. They can often be purchased locally but not always in your preferred brand. Be sure to pack sufficient prescription medicines and OTC drugs if required. A supply of toilet paper is a “must” laundry. This can usually be done at hotels and there may well be facilities locally, Washing prowder can usually be bought locally but a small amount carried with you comes in handy in more remote areas.

WaterIt is inadvisable to drink local tap water and, if you are travelling in an area where bottled water is unlikely to be readily available, consider taking a water filter with you.

East Midlands Airport terminal offers regular bus services to and through the cities of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby and also the towns of Loughborough and Coalville via its network of Skylink buses. They will also be kept amused using the indoor adventure perform area with tunnels, slides and towers.

Outside, there are lakeside walks and nature and sculpture trails, with a narrow gauge train. Nearby is the flourishing National Forest and also the Donington Motor Racing Park. The city of Leicester is definitely worth a visit with its unusual shops, fascinating attractions, fine dining places, a vibrant nightlife along with a strong cultural diversity. Over the last decade Leicester has evolved into one of the country’s most diverse and vibrant cities. As among the country’s finest retailing destinations, its excellent for purchasing with all of the big name shops together with an array of distinctive specialist stores and designer labels. It also is an excellent location to spend a relaxing evening; with its unique ethnic mix, there are a broad assortment of eateries within the city, from some of the best Asian dining places towards the conventional English restaurants tucked away within the historical Leicester Lanes. Collectively with an array of elegant bars and entertainment venues, the only problem will be deciding exactly where to go!

To travel to Indochina area , the first suggestion is to buy yourself a health insurance which policy provides coverage outside your country, very few pay for medical evacuation too. Depending on the medical condition and your location, the medical evacuation can easily cost ,000, such an insurance will help you a lot if you need medical services while travelling.

There are a few big cities such as Bangkok and HCMC can provide international standard medical care in Indochina area, but most part of this area is not, taking health precautions and vaccinations are prior to your travel plan. The following immunizations are suggested, you may consult your doctor or the local health department to discuss which ones you need:

Diphtheria and tetanus: Combined vaccinations for these two diseases are usually given in childhood and should be boosted every ten years.

Hepatitis A: Vaccination provides immunity for up to ten years and involves an initial injection followed by another six months to one year later.

Meningococcal Meningitis: This vaccine is only recommended for travellers making extended visits to rural, northern Vietnam. Protection lasts for three years.

Rabies: People making longer trips to remote areas should consider rabies vaccination, which involves three injections over a period of three to four weeks.

Bring your own medicine and prescription drugs in case you cannot get the same ones at local pharmacies in Indochina area . Many of the drugs sold in small pharmacies are copies or have expired. Stick to reputable Pharmacies that are easy to find in main cities around Indochina area.

Remember to drink a lot of non-alcoholic liquids, stick to bottled water and prevent using ice in the drinks in most part of Indochina area. If there is no bottled water, boiled water is acceptable. In Bangkok, Hanoi and HCMC, ice is general fine.

Vegetables should be thoroughly cleaned and preferably cooked. All meats and fish should be well cooked. To be safe, peel your own fruit. Yogurt, if refrigerated, is generally fine but avoid fresh milk and be wary of other non-sealed dairy products, especially home-made ice cream. If you are unsure, avoid it.

Tummy is common disease for travelers. If it occurs, maintain a diet of bland foods of fluids only. If severe, consult a physician. When you need medical care during your vacation in Indochina area, medical personnel outside big cities normally speak little or no English, so make sure your tour guide is beside you when seeing a doctor. Good communication is the criteria of correct diagnosis. Local hospital and doctors expect immediate payment for health services. Minor illnesses and injuries can be taken care of in most cities in Indochina area. If there are more serious health problems that require medical evacuation, please contact your tour company in the first time. Professional tour operator is experienced for emergency situation. You can visit http://www.indochinaodysseytours.com to get more information about this.

The green mountains, the blue sea, the white sand and the nearby woods with a reddish flame in the bon fire is just an appropriate environment to relish in the perfect holiday. All these things are like dream come true for city dwellers. The pleasant environment and the calm evening can recharge you for the next innings. The boring tiring life always searches for such kind of exotic relaxation. The hectic metropolitan life brings frustration some times. And after certain point of time everybody needs a break in their life. Most of the people generally like to have some relaxation. They, then generally search for some relaxation. Southeast Asia is the most haunting zone in the world. This is been surveyed that now most of the tourists are asking for Southeast Asia travel packages. Most of the countries of Southeast Asia are technologically advanced with other developed facilities. The zone can be considers as the most suitable place for relaxation. So many travelling agencies are providing so many tour packages for the countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand etc.

I would recommend you to consult a good travel agent for South East Asia. In this new era, one don’t have to think about the stuffs like booking tickets, booking hotels, renting cars, look for a guide and etc. because all these are been arranged by the travel consultancies only. Now, one can fly with ease without any tension. Even, most of the travel agencies are also providing VISA processing for their clients. Good and reputed travel agencies always look after the client satisfaction.

The travel executives are generally well-educated and dedicated towards their work. They are always ready to help their clients. Even they do inform you about the current scenario of the place before boarding. After the agreement all the responsibilities go to them and you have only relaxed weekend. Travel agencies always provide the travel insurances before starting the trip. All these facilities are been meant for u only.

Don’t wait, go and explore the exotic locations of Southeast Asia. Fly with the complete relaxed mood and feel fresh.

In general, Indochina area is safe for travelers and tourists. Violent attacks rarely happen, but heist is a problem in Indochina area, just like what is happening in most part of this world. Don’t worry about it; here are some tips for you to take some precautions while travelling in Indochina area:

1. Secure your valuable possessions in the hotel safe, if there isn’t one in your hotel room, the hotel front desk can provide the same service. 2. If you use traveller’s cheque, the suggestion is to write down the cheque numbers on a piece of paper, cross out the one after you use it to make your own record. 3. Take pictures of the information of the credit cards you are going to use while travelling, leave the ones that you don’t need at home; print the pictures and bring them in your luggage. 4. Use the same common sense travelling in Indochina area that you would at home, don’t use shortcuts and try not to walk alone at night. If you have to go out after dark, let somebody know when you are expected to come back to hotel. 5. Don’t put your wallet or mobile phone in the back pocket of your pants or anywhere else that is easily reached, thieves can reach them easily too. Be vigilant in markets and crowded places. 6. Wear the shoulder strap of your bag across your chest, and walk with the bag away from the curb to avoid drive-by purse-snatchers. It is more of a problem in big cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Phen, but there are a few incidences in Vientiane too. 7. Don’t discuss your personal matters and travel plans with strangers while traveling in Indochina area. 8. Traffic is chaotic in Indochina area, especially in Vietnam. It’s illegal to ride on a motorcycle without wearing a helmet, it’s not only required according to the local law system, but also made for your personal safety. 9. When crossing the street on foot, walk at a slow and steady pace, looking up and meeting the driver’s eyes, the traffic will flow around you. 10. Monitor the media for information about possible safety and security risks.

There are special tips at different countries and regions in Indochina area :Vietnam: Tourists are sometimes not authorized to travel to certain areas of Vietnam in deemed sensitive by the Vietnam Government.

That’s “Happy New Year!” in Cantonese to you and me. Having spent a summer studying and travelling across China and Hong Kong, the lavishly colourful Chinese New Year celebrations send me on a trip down memory lane, back to the mouth-watering cuisine and fascinating ancient traditions, not to mention the wonderfully kind people I befriended along the way.

Luckily many cities across the East Midlands Trains network, particularly London, Nottingham, Sheffield, Manchester and Liverpool, boast vibrant Chinese communities and play host to the explosion of parades, dragon dancing, acrobatics and delicious food that mark Chinese New Year. And this year’s free street celebrations are set to be bigger and better than ever, so if you’ve never taken part before, now is the perfect time to experience your first Chinese New Year.Ancient traditions: Chinese New Year in the East Midlands

In China, New Year is an important time for families to gather and celebrate a new beginning. The preparation of extravagant meals and sweets is thought to appease the kitchen gods, while firecrackers–which are so popular in Beijing that it sounds like the city is under siege over the holiday–are thought to drive off evil spirits. On New Year’s Day, children receive a hong bao–lucky red envelopes containing gifts or money. Everyone dresses up in special clothes and is on their best behaviour as it’s considered bad luck to shout, lie, swear or even break anything on this sacred day.The Year of the Rabbit: Chinese New Year in the East Midlands

The Chinese New Year officially rings in on 3 February this year, which marks the first day of the Year of the Rabbit. As one of the luckiest signs in the Chinese Zodiac, children hopping into the world in 2011 are said to be marked for a life of financial fortune. You’ll also fall under this sign if you were born in past rabbit years including 1999, 1987, 1975 and 1963, and be in good company with famous rabbits such as Whitney Houston, John Cleese and Ingrid Bergman.Chinese New Year in the East Midlands: What’s on in…London

The capital city’s celebrations are the most elaborate outside of China. This year, they take place on Sunday, 6 February, from noon until the early evening, in Trafalgar Square, Chinatown and Shaftesbury Avenue. Over 250,000 joined in the merriment last year, which saw the city taken over by huge dancing puppet parades, martial arts displays, dragon and lion dances, performances from visiting Chinese artists and stalls and marquees offering oriental culinary delights.Nottingham

Beginning on 6 February, the month-long celebrations at Nottingham’s Lakeside Arts Centre will feature the return of Chinese choreographer, dancer and teacher Rong Tao, who will be leading creative workshops in the community. Traditional folk songs, lion and dragon dances and New Year songs and dance from the Nottingham Chinese School feature on the launch night’s bill, as well as such attractions as rickshaw rides, a dragon boat, Chinese Zodiac pyramid lanterns and an exhibition of paintings by Cathy Wu. The festivities culminate with an outdoor gala at Highfields Park with stage performances from 5pm and a spectacular fireworks finale at 6.30pm.

Sheffield

Sheffield City Hall will be turned into a mini Far East to play host to the city’s New Year celebrations on Monday, 7 February. Doors open at 5pm for an array of acrobats, dancers and food stalls, with performances between 7pm and 9pm from the highly regarded Gansu Provincial Ensemble of Song and Dance from Northwest China and the Sheffield Chinese Women and Children group. Tickets cost £7 on the door for adults, with £5 concessions for students, senior citizens and children under 12s.

Manchester

The New Year will be rung in with style on Sunday, 6 February in Manchester’s Chinatown and Albert Square. The free outdoor event kicks off at 11am and will feature dragon and lion dances, parades, award-winning acrobatics, martial arts, music and folk dance. Hundreds of street stands will include free tastings, arts and crafts, jewellery, food and art workshops for children. The evening ends with a spectacular fireworks display at 6pm.Liverpool

Liverpool’s Chinese community, one of the oldest in Europe, will gather on Sunday 6 February for a fun-filled celebration for the whole family. The traditional Lion, Dragon and Unicorn Parade takes place from 11.30am to 3pm on Nelson Street, around the tallest Chinese Arch outside mainland China, while the Taste of China Sunday Market runs from 11am to 4pm on Great George Street. Also look out for a firecracker display at 1pm at Great George Square and funfairs and activities for children in the area.
